The ACWC Worship Service is an annual event. The 2013 worship liturgy is prepared by Kampuchea Christian Council Women’s Desk on the theme ‘Family and Gender Relationships’. This theme is very important today as many families face various issues and challenges on relationships from within and outside the family. Therefore for this year the Women’s Work Committee decided to hold a seminar together with the worship service.
The worship liturgy is prepared by women and also attended mainly by women but for this year’s programme we wanted the whole family to participate. Admission was free. The seminar and worship service was held on 19th October 2013 in CCM Ecumenical Centre, 26 Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya. The seminar was from 2.00 p.m. till 5.00 p.m.
A total of 56 participants consisting of women, men, teenagers and young adults attended. The facilitator for the seminar was Rev. Dr. Victoria Nair Vincent. She is the co-senior Pastor of Joy Harvest Assembly. She is a former teacher and trainer by profession. Besides she also has a doctorate in Family Counselling from USA. The topics covered were:
Effective communication between parents and Children
Godly boy-girl relationship
Tips on choosing life partners
Dating
Rev. Dr. Victoria Nair Vincent shared on many common issues that parents and children face today. The discussions were very beneficial.
After the seminar we continued with the worship service at 5.00 p.m. Captain Irene Chang from the Salvation Army and a member of the women’s work committee did the sharing.
