The CCM hosted an ecumenical group from Germany who were to conduct a Youth Work Camp in Sabah.
The group comprised of young people from different congregations from the Protestant and Roman Catholic Churches.
The entire group was making their first trip to Sabah. Once there they will be staying in different localities where they will engage in community building activities among the indigenous peoples.
The idea for such an enterprise came out of the on-going ecumenical partnership between the Roman Catholic and Protestant churches in Sabah with their counterparts in the Heilbronn region in South Germany.
Over the ten years of meaningful partnership between the churches, the church leaders in Heilbronn felt it was important to attract youth involvement. While visiting the CCM Ecumenical Center ( 31st July to 2nd August 2014), the group was introduced to Malaysia by the General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Hermen Shastri.
The young German Christians were impressed by the work of CCM and the Ecumenical Center and hoped to return one day to participate in ecumenical exchange with the CCM.
