Teaching as a Mission and Vocation - MCSC Resource material

Dear Bishop Ng Moon Hing,
Chairman of CFM

Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

On behalf of Ms Yin Kam Yoke, the Hon. Secretary of MCSC, I would like to draw your attention to the resource material produced by MCSC to encourage more Christian young people into the Teaching profession. We have produced a booklet with a DVD which has a 10-minute video clip called TEACHING AS A MISSION AND VOCATION.

Our objective is that churches throughout the country will draw the attention of their congregations, parents and young people, to the dearth of Christian teachers in our nation. As it is such an important profession, we must have our Christian influence there. Presently in my position, we are having difficulty getting people senior enough and willing and eligible to be Pengetua and Guru Besar for our mission schools. I am sure you already know all this and I need not emphasize it more to you.

The thing is, the churches must do something about this. We must work at it proactively.

MCSC would suggest having one Sunday a year to promote the Importance of the Teaching Profession. Our DVD can be played to add impetus. If necessary, someone from MCSC or TCF can be invited to give a talk.

We look to you, Bishop, and CFM to spread this calling to take up Teaching as a Vocation and Mission, with the utmost urgency.

Can we pass the booklet+DVD to you to promote it there?

We have produced 2000 copies to be purchased at @ RM10 each.

Thank you.

shalom,
