Message of Prayer Solidarity

Dear brothers and sisters of the churches in Myanmar,

As more news becomes available, we are shocked at the magnitude of the devastation caused by Cyclone Nargis, which has killed thousands, and displaced thousands more, and who are now in dire need of humanitarian relief.

Our prayers go out to all the people of Myanmar, most especially to all families who have lost their loved ones, and those struggling to cope with the devastation.

We pray that God will grant strength to the churches to pastorally respond to those who are traumatised by the calamity. May God also bless the efforts of international humanitarian relief agencies as they direct immediate aid to the affected areas.

As a sign of our solidarity with the people and churches of Myanmar, we have called upon our churches to make immediate donations towards sustaining the on-going humanitarian relief to those in desperate need of aid.
