We in the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) convey to Malaysian Hindus our warmest Deepavali greetings.

Deepavali is the Festival of Lights.  It celebrates the victory of good over evil.  Let our prayers be that anger is overcome by love, evil by good, greed by charity, arrogance by humility and falsehood by truth.

As all Malaysians look forward to the festivities of Deepavali with family reunions and gatherins, we in MCCBCHST will be praying for safe travel, goodwill, reconciliation within families and between neighbours, and kindness towards the poor and less fortunate, the elderly and children.

May all Malaysians take this opportunity to visit with their Hindu neigbhours, colleagues and friends.  Personal friendships and good neighbourliness is the basis for national unity.
